Brindlecombe
The railway brings you here. There is more than one way to leave.
At the station are a canopy, iron lamp brackets, a bench and a very large plant in a pot. A grey cat belongs to the parcels office. After a night on the sleeper, these are small, reassuring things to find.
Elsewhere in Brindlecombe, the canal basin has a crane, a goods yard and a warehouse with a white door. The market serves the surrounding country; in October the teasel trade brings buyers from much further away.
For Little Tallowmere, take the road past the stone wall and millpond, then up towards the village green. Or follow the canal stories and arrive with cargo at the wharf below the orchard.
