Published under the earlier name, Candlewick Passage. It is the same street, now called Amberwick Passage.
Jonah knows the Passage lamp by lamp. A light outside the chemist, a pause at the toyshop, a word through an open door: his evening work takes him through the small, continuing lives of the street.
At Bellweather & Sons, a clockwork mouse brings back a memory of Edward as a boy. Further downhill, the Old Gentleman waits above the river steps. Follow the round at Jonah’s pace, with the Fenn family never far from his thoughts.
